Dawn grew up on a Kansas farm, in the tiny town of Herndon....population 200. Graduated from The University of Kansas, in the top 10% with a Broadcast Journalism Degree. She was voted Best Broadcast student Junior/Senior years. A True-blue Jayhawk Fan, "NCCA'S Big Dance in March is one of my favorite times of year. Go Hawks!" Dawn has worked in Garden City, Kansas; Lawton, Oklahoma; Peoria, Illinois and Wichita, Kansas.
Dawn has covered stories on the Oklahoma City Bombing, Presidential Elections, 9-11, Texas 7 Escape, Space Shuttle Challenger Breakup over Texas, and violent weather, including tornadoes in Fort Worth, Oklahoma and Kansas.
