Many health professionals say that eating 5 or 6 small meals a day will help you to keep your weight off. A new app called ShakeASnack adds variety to your daily snacks.

The database is filled with nutritious, 3-ingredient snacks. First choose whether you're in the mood for sweet or savory. Then... you guessed it… shake your phone or click shake.

Next click "Make this Snack" to find out the nutrition facts. And add it to your favorites to save the combo.

But let's say the app keeps coming up with recipes that include brussels sprouts, and you can't stand the taste of those things. Easy fix - just go to "Settings" and remove it from your list of ingredients.

You can even add your own recipe idea to the app using the "Submit" tab.

My suggestion… open this app when you're at the grocery. As much as I love avocados and Greek yogurt… I don't always have them in my fridge.
