Jim Grimes has been with The 33 News since September 2001. He Co-Anchor's the Weekend editions of The 33 News with Dawn Tongish and contributes during the week as a reporter.

Jim has been in front of the camera for more than 20 years. During that time, he's been on the scene of countless major stories including Hurricanes Rita, Andrew and the F-5 tornado that devastated the small town of Jerrell, Texas. Among other stories, he reported from Oklahoma City just hours after the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building. Jim also broke the story of the tragic racial murder of James Byrd in Jasper, Texas.

Jim initially joined The 33 News from Raleigh, North Carolina, where he served as weekend anchor and reporter at the NBC affiliate. Before that, he was a reporter at KPRC-TV in Houston. Jim has also worked at WPTV-TV in West Palm Beach and was the Collier County bureau chief in Fort Myers, Florida for WINK-TV. His first on-air assignment was at KLST-TV in San Angelo, as a general assignment reporter.

Jim graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington where he graduated with a Journalism Degree in 1989. He and his wife live in Keller with their two children.
