My name is Antwon, my fiancée' Ashley. We both recently got back from Iraq; however I came back earlier than her due to injuries acquired while on a mission. Ashley and I are both in the National Guard; we were mobilized and went to Fort Stewart, GA for mobilization. We met at a Soldier Readiness Program (SRP). I wanted to talk to her because I couldn't pronounce her last name. Yeah I think it sounds a little corny, but it has lead me to the happiest moments in my life. I asked her friend how to say her name, and her friend interpreted it as me wanting her, which I did. We finally started officially talking to each other on September 24th. We were both hesitant to get too close to each other for fear that we might get deployed to different areas of Iraq. When we found out that we were going to the same Forward Operating Base (FOB) it was sort of exciting for both of us. She was on her first deployment I was on my third, so with my experience I promised that I would watch over her. So while we were in Iraq we grew closer together, I bragged daily about the way I felt about her. It really was the happiest time of my life. That is until May 4, 2009. That is the day I was blown up while on a mission to northern portion of Baghdad, Iraq. A roadside bomb penetrated the truck I was driving and tore through my right arm and right leg. I was medically evacuated out of Iraq to Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, TX. As I went through the medical care needed to help me recover Ashley was the motivation to my speedy recuperation. After she finally returned we decided to get an apartment together to further embrace our love for one another. It was October 4th of this year when I finally proposed to her. I was extremely nervous when I asked if she would do me the honor of being my wife, but my nervousness was turned to intense blissfulness when she said yes. |

We have a unique story that brought us to where we are today when Ryan was brutally attacked four days prior to when our first date would have taken place. Looking back now, he shouldn't have lived because he suffered severe trauma, was partialy paralyzed, and he was told that he would never walk again. He doesn't remember my first visit when he was in ICU. I tear up when I think about it because when I hugged him goodbye, he reached to me with his right arm because that was the side that wasn't paralyzed. As he hugged me he said, "I can't wait to hold you with both of my arms."
Ryan and I are both ready to move forward from the past so we can start our lives together. Although we are truly excited about getting married, it is stressful to think about planning a wedding! Having someone else plan it for us would be an amazing gift!! |

In May of 2007 my husband was killed in a freak motorcycle accident. Not only did I lose my husband of 12 ½ years, but my children had lost their father, my mother-in-law lost her only son and my sister-in-law lost her only brother. My father, who had been suffering from prostate and bladder cancer, among several health issues, could only ask why it was Jason and not him. In February of 2008 I knew it was time for my kids and me to start fresh. We bought a house and moved from Longview, TX to Mansfield, TX. In May of 2008 I met Derrick. I thought for a long time that I would never settle down again, and that no one could fill the hole that was left in my heart or in my kid's hearts. I was soooo wrong. Derrick is my light. Not only has he taken on a life with a woman who has so much baggage -you have to think, I have a family that will always include my late husband's family now, and of course they have not always made it easy on him but he has taken on the responsibility of being "dad" to two children, and a relationship with a woman who is 14 years his senior! He is a 22 divorcee with two children and an x-wife and a "baby-momma" and then adds us to his life! When we started dating he was also dealing with the fact that his mother was dying of colon cancer. In August of 2008 Derrick moved in with me, and so did his father and dying mother. In September he unofficially proposed to me with no ring of course lol with the promise of "someday I will have a ring and make this real, if you'll have me." Then, sadly, in February of 2009 his mother passed away in our home while under hospice care. His father lost his job shortly after that and has not had steady work since. We have been struggling to survive on what I receive in Social Security Survivor benefits while we were both in school. Derrick is about to finish school to gain his certification as a Personal Fitness Trainer, and I have recently finished school and am in the processing of testing to gain my Cosmetology Instructor's License. Both of our first marriages were not exactly dream weddings to say the least. His marriage altogether was a very bad one. This time we both want the wedding that we were never able to have, and the honeymoon neither of us ever had. He wants to give me the beautiful engagement ring I was never given. I want to give him the life he never had. We are the crazy, cool couple that gets along with everyone lol. We are the tattooed, pierced, and colored hair freaks that everyone loves lol. We would love for you to help us make this dream a reality. |

My name is Rodrigo and my fiancés name is Shannon. We were high school sweethearts. Shannon and I began dating on November 6, 2003. It was love at first sight. We have been together for 5 years and 11 months now. We made it through our immature years together and helped one another to mature. She moved in with me and my parents when she was 18 years old. Our relationship began to grow stronger at a faster pace during the two years that we lived there. About two months ago we bought our first house together. We are both in college now; her to become a pediatrician and me to be a state trooper. We are barely able to make it on our own paying bills, gas, and college tuition. We want to get married but money is hard to come by. Her dad wants to help but he works in construction and business has been slow lately. The money that he does get has to go towards the two kids that he adopted and the grandchild that he has to raise. Being with her these past 5 years and 11 months has made me happier than I ever thought that I could be. She tells me that we can just get married at the Justice of Peace that all that matters is that we are together. But I know how much it means to her to have a beautiful wedding with all her family and friends present. So, there is no way that I can let her give up on what she has always dreamed of having! I hope that we are chosen to receive this dream wedding so I can make her the happiest woman in the world on our wedding day. |
