The nation's largest and most sophisticated video game lounge opened on the campus of SMU today. Administrators are encouraging students to take time out to play games.
A university catering to a generation of video game players.

Wii's, Playstations, and X-box's fill the new 'M lounge' at SMU, an entertainment room just for students. Student Jonathan Lu says, " Right now, I'm playing 'Prince of Persia' on the PS3; I don't have a PS3 at home."

Equipped with 36 game consoles, courtesy of Game Stop stores, it's a free arcade on campus.

It serves another purpose; SMU is home to The Guildhall, a group of students who  design video games.  Students say making games is a tedious job that demands feedback from game users. The lounge provides the perfect test. Most people don't realize how long it takes just to make one game.

Student Eva Tran says, "To make something larger, like Halo Wars, I would imagine it would take you two to three years."
