"What I'm trying to do now is see if I can fit a word in that will be hidden," with her faithful companion Sophie by her side, Cannon Lewis is forming the lines of her final jewelry collection before leaving town. She says of one piece, "You can wear it all different ways; it's almost like you flip it through like a stack of note cards."

The Texas native's designs grace the necklines, fingers and ear lobes of Dallasites who admire her intricate, whimsical and nature inspired designs and the honest poetry she sneaks into her pieces. Cannon says, "It's sort of an awkward feeling at first, you feel like you're putting your journal out for everyone to see and comment on, but I think it's revolutionized my artistic side." Heather Murphy says, "It's more than just a piece of jewelry, it's a hint of poetry as well."

And once her pieces started gaining popularity locally, she though she'd try her hand at retail, so she came knocking on the door of Stanley Korshak, and before she knew it, her jewelry was in his shops. And Heather Murphy, a shopper says, "Because she's a local designer there's more of a buzz about her, so I heard about her through friends." And Bret McKinney, Director of Fashion Presentation at Stanley Korshak says, "Cannon Lewis's things actually go through that entire range of woman; from a cool, young hip contemporary gal to a more established older woman."

And while Dallas gave her her start, now she's picking up her roots, and taking her designs to New York City. But her jewelry is already on the move, with every woman who slips on her pieces before they head out. Cannon says, "I get so excited, it's like a mother with her children; it's cool to see it but it's cool to see it on other people. They kind of come alive, because a lot of them are so different and they have their own personalities."
