A two-car accident in Collin County has left 3 people dead. It happened this afternoon on State Highways 78 and 205.
According to The Department of Public Safety, a Hyundai SUV crossed the median and hit head-on into a Honda minivan. The impact was so strong it knocked the SUV's engine from the vehicle and onto the road. Three adults in the van were confirmed dead at a local hospital. A four-year-old toddler, also in the van, suffered a broken arm and is being treated at Children's Medical Center in Dallas. Witnesses said the victims were the child's mother and grandparents, although their names have not officially been released.
Two witnesses, who helped pull the girl from the van, said they had driven to the hospital with her and were told the child's father was out of state on business and was flying back home immediately. The two people inside the other vehicle have been taken to a hospital in Plano, however their conditions are unknown.
