DALLAS -
After practicing at the Alamodome for the past three and a half weeks, today The Cowboys finally returned home to Valley Ranch, but they couldn't help but notice that something was missing...
Usually you can see it from within two or three miles. You can see that and that's usually been a trademark, said receiver Patrick Crayton.
The bubble that topped off The Cowboys indoor practice facility is no more. It's a constant reminder of the severe storm that rolled through Valley Ranch on May 2nd and brought down the indoor practice field...
While it's a moment The Cowboys say they will never forget... They realize they have no other choice but to put that tragic moment behind them.
Rookie linebacker Jason Williams said, "It's just something we got to push pass. It happen what, like three and half months ago. We can't linger on it too long. We got games we have to get ready to win so we can't think about it too much just got to get out there and play through it."
Something else The Cowboys will have to play through is the heat. Normally when the temperature got too hot. The Boys would head indoors... but for now... that's not an option...
"I'm used to the heat," said rookie linebacker Stephen Hodge. "I played in Fort Worth for four years. For the out of state guys, it's going to be a challenge for them, but I'm pretty sure they'll get used to it like they did during the O.T.A.'s."
Gerald Sensabaugh said, "It will be good to get out there in the heat. Our first game is going to be out in Tampa. It's going to be burning up there. So if you're not cramping up out here, then you should be all right during the game."
The Cowboys open up the season, September 13th against The Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
