Be it offense or defense, the Dallas Desire left everything on the field today. Quarterback Linda Brenner said excitedly, "I've been waiting for this for months."

It was day one of training camp for the 2010-2011 season. Rookie corner Amanda Thompson said, " It's just this great, exciting energy and nervousness, but you're so nervous. It's an exciting nervous."

Already the pressure is as deep as the passes for last year's Western Conference Champs of the Lingerie Football League. Brenner said, "Our expectations are to win the Bowl and that's it. I don't care about our ranking. I don't care about our personal stats, my personal stats."

The All Star QB told us coming close but not winning The Lingerie Bowl last year felt like a wasted season. That kind of take-no-prisoners spirit is obvious in many of these competitors. Brenner said, "We had numerous injuries last year, knocked out teeth, torn ACL's, broken collarbones, ribs, fingers. So it's definitely not any powder-pufff, girly girly."

It's hard to say whether it was the football or the female that grabbed so much attention today at Germany Park while we stood on sidelines, but some guys playing a little pigskin of their own told us if you analyze the x's and the o's, one will prevail. Former college and Arena football player Lamont Moore said, "Most people hear the lingerie part of it and they think the girls are coming out, like a bunch of pretty little girls trying to get ready for a pageant or whatever. But the girls are all former athletes and it's actual real hitting, real football."

That's rookie corner Amanda Thompson's favorite part. She said, "I've always been an athletic girl. I was in power lifting, cheer leading, track, tennis and I just love the energy, and the excitement and the toughness. I love to be a tough girl."

Their play starts September 3rd at the Cotton Bowl. Not every girl here will make the team. Cuts will be made along the way.
