5 year old Javian Lockhart has a cough, runny nose and temperature of 103. His mother has concerns of swine flu. Ashley Lockhart says, "It's scary. It's very scary. What scares me the most is his fever won't drop down."

That's why she brought him to Children's Medical Center in Dallas. He's one of more than two dozen people who were tested here today for influenza. That number that is down from the past several days. Dr. John Carlo says, "We're too early to say we're out of the woods yet."

The Dallas County Public Health Department today reported a weekend reduction in the number of Dallas County hospitals visits. Also, that the CDC hasn't confirmed any new local cases, but there is a significant backlog. Dr. John Carlo says, "They are likely prioritizing specimens received from areas that don't have previous cases, so Dallas may be in the back of the line so to speak in case confirmation."

Dallas County has a total of 7 confirmed cases, 51 probable cases. Children's Medical Center is keeping track of the latest swine flu developments 24 hours a day, using a system called Live Process. It's a web-based, emergency mangement tool that allows subscribing hospitals to share information with eachother and staff.

Dana Suell says, "One it helps us to know if we're having a surge or influx of patients coming in the facility. If we need to set up another alternative care site, if we need to talk to Dallas County Public Health to order more supplies, or if we need to get with to get other hospitals to order more supplies."

Health officials say people must remain diligent in exercising healthy habits, like washing hands. Ashley Lockhart is...she just hopes it's been enough.
