DALLAS -
There's a hint of fall in the air, but before you drag out all of those old sweaters, you have to find out what's in season right now and we're going to to tell you what the hottest fall trends are!
I asked Mariel Haenn, "You have styled some of the biggest celebrity names" and she said, "Just to name a few I'd say Rihanna Ciara, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith."
And now she's touring around the country with the , and showing us her top picks, starting with the 80s blazer.
Mariel says, "The shoulder pads make it a little more feminine because it brings it in at the waist." Pair it with leggings for the ultimate trendy look. Becky Morris says, "Leggings are sort of a staple because they're comfortable, you can dress them up you can dress them down."
Mariel says, "Leggings could pair with another one of my trends which is the cozy knit. And a lot of times this is stuff you'll see Rihanna wearing through the airport, or going out to eat."
Shopper Bridget Goodenbour says, "I think layering is huge, so I'm taking pieces from last year and mixing them together in a more funky way."
I asked Mariel, "You're wearing all black, there's black over there, what are the colors we're going to see this fall?" And she said, "Grey, the charcoal grey, the heather grey, there's so many versions I like, purple is definitely big for fall, and turquoise." And if dressed in dark hues, add color with a scarf or metallic necklace. Mariel says, "These scarves are called loops and it's basically because it is a loop."
But if you feel overwhelmed with all these new trends, Mariel's top style advice is to keep it simple, yet playful. Mariel says, "Very classic in silhouette, but edgy in detail."
