Dallas—
Barily visible stripes and missing road reflectors are finally getting replaced along 635-LBJ in North Dallas. Over the years the stripes have faded making it difficult for drivers to tell what lane there in. "It's scary, like your going to hit somebody," said driver Jay Kaplin.Dallas police also say its dangerous. Sr. Cpl. Kevin Jansey said "when an officers does an investigation on an accident he has to contribute it to something. Failure to maintain a single lane of travel because you dont know where the lane markings are is definatly one of the main reasons for accidents."
The problem is much worse at night or when it rains. "Its a dangerous situation," said driver Brian Avilia. "When it rains you dont know where your going," said Avila.
Over the summer, TxDot approved a new $20(m) contract to make the repairs. The recent rains have slowed down the project's progress, which they expect will be finished by the end of November.
