That's what Will Lindow decided when he was laid off from an advertising firm in March. "I took a plunge," he says. He decided to start a website about his passion: music.
Even though he had no web experience, he was able to build the website himself with help from wix.com He was surprised to see what happened after he launched the website. "I couldn't believe the response," Lindow says. Two weeks after it was up, he was offered a music gig in Dallas, contacted by a band in Austin, and he already had several production gigs.
Another web-success story is Desiree Burris. When she and her husband lost their jobs and couldn't find other work, she decided to start her own insurance business. But when door to door fliers weren't really working, she built her own website. That's when her business really took off. Burris says she's now not only supporting her family, but also helping other people who've lost their job and insurance.
