Grapevine -
If you think you've seen it all when it comes to bad dates, check out myveryworstdate.com.
It's a collection of dating nightmares submitted by daters.
Kim Schuld from Grapevine visits the Web site regularly. She says she likes to know she's not alone.
"To know that I'm not the only one out there, to know that I'm not alone with bad dating experiences," Schuld says.
Her bad experience? Getting dumped on Valentines Day.
She was going to a favorite bar with her friends to meet up with her date. "Everybody knows I'm excited about him showing up, and then he walks in the door with the ex-girlfriend on his arm," Schuld says. It was an embarassing experience, but she can laugh about it now.
She submitted her story to myveryworstdate.com's Valentine's Day Contest.
Victoria Namkung, co-founder of the Web site, says she and a friend started the Web site as a joke about a year ago.
The Web site now has between 5,000 and 10,000 views a day.
Namkung goes through hundreds of horror stories a week. She says she sees a few common mistakes made on dates.
"Don't get drunk, don't be a cheap skate, and be honest. We get a huge amount of submissions of people who lied on their match.com profile or not admitted that they're still married. It's going to come out eventually."
When the sweet possibility of love is shattered, it's good to know you're not alone.
As Schuld puts it, "You have to turn it into something you can laugh about, or it brings you down."
