Solar Panel Thefts in Johnson County
Sheriff Alford reports the Johnson County Sheriff's Office has received numerous reports of thefts from gas well sites throughout the Johnson County area. These theft reports indicate the suspects are targeting solar panels and copper wire.

It is believed the solar panels are likely to be re-sold for various uses. However, the copper wire is most likely to be sold as scrap.

The photos included in this alert, depict two individuals in the process of stealing solar panels at one of the well sites located in the Cleburne area.

Based on the photos, the vehicle utilized by the thieves, is believed to be a dark colored Ford F150. These photos are being included in this alert in hopes someone will recognize either one or both of these people.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office is requesting your assistance in identifying these suspects. Additionally, we are asking each Wise Eyes recipient to be particularly observant to any activity around well sites and report any suspicious activity to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, by calling 817.556.6060.

In the event you should see something you consider suspicious, DO NOT approach the suspects. After you call the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, document any information you can through observation. Document a good suspect description; a good vehicle description; document date time and location of the activity.
