Heidi Dillon loves high fashion, and she's got a closet full of it. To make room for this season's hottest trends, she needed to do some spring cleaning. The women of 'The Ultimate Exchange' are helping her clear out her gently worn designer duds, by putting them in their three day consignment sale.
Tonya Martin says, "How cool to be able to clean out your closet, make money and then be able to re spend that money again." With traditional resale you take your clothes to a conigner, who picks and chooses what to take, and then months later you receive your own items for what you think they're worth, then drop them off before the big sale and within three days you've got your cash. Tonya says, "The cool thing about this is we have a system that people can go online and put their merchandise, price their own stuff tag their items, bring them to the sale the day that it starts."
And if you're a shopper, you'll have thousands of discounted designer clothes to choose from. Heidi says of one of hte outfits she parted with, "These two pieces together retailed for over a thousand and you'll be able to pick them up for a fraction of that at the sale."
And when the sale is over, consigners can choose to give a portion of their sales to charities, like Hiedi's own, The Fashionistas non profit, or donate the remaining clothes. Tonya says, "You can either give 10 percent, 20 percent or 50 percent of their check back to one of our charity partners."
The sale begins May third, at the Texas Star Event Facility in Dallas. But you can already list your items online and print tags for the pieces you plan to sell or make room in your closet for the clothes you plan to buy.
